Travel Diary -Budapest

the city  -  market places  -  leisure  -  Budakeszi

Budakeszi is where I grew up. Its geographical proximity to the capital city makes it something like a suburb, but that term does not have a Hungarian equivalent.

It is a quaint small town within a thirty-minute bus ride from the city.

That car on the right is a Trabant. They used to be very popular, or I should say common, in the old days - not because of their beauty or high quality, but for being the cheapest automobile in all Eastern Europe. Though most people couldn't afford any car at all.

By the way, they have two-stroke engines.

Cats are the same everywhere: they like warm lap.

On the right: "golgota" along a narrow road. It symbolizes the - I think seven - stages of the cross. Sorry, was not religiously raised.
